The Mountaintop Experience
Sarah Stanlick, Director, Center for Community Engagement and Professor of Practice, Sociology & Anthropology
Atop South Mountain, inside vast industrial spaces that once housed a Bethlehem Steel research facility, interdisciplinary teams of students collaborate in a vibrant new learning environment for student-directed research, The Mountaintop Experience.  Students have the freedom to pursue answers to open-ended questions, to take intellectual risks, to learn from failure and to try again, and to affirm their capacity to effect powerful and sustainable change in the world.
