Learning More About Law School

You are here

The Law School Admission Council is the nonprofit organization that handles most aspects of the application process to law schools. An overview of this process can be obtained. Students register for the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) on this site and can obtain prep materials to help study for it. The Credential Assembly Service allows the submission of one electronic application through LSAC no matter how many law schools to which students are applying, in addition to their letters of recommendation. There is also information on how to finance a law school education, an official guide to law schools (to help identify law schools to which to apply), and law school diversity initiatives. Additionally, the LSAC site also helps potential applicants learn more about the practice of the law, legal specialties, being a law student, and admission to the bar in Thinking About Law School.
